We also offer our own regulators to match our self-developed HPA system.
It was important to us to develop regulators that have excellent performance at a reasonable price.

Our regulators can not only be operated with HPA bottles, but also optionally with standard 425 g / 600 ml CO2 cylinders. These are known from sparkling machines such as “SodaStream, SodaNature, Soda Maxx etc.” and can be purchased and exchanged, for example: at your local retailer and online. An HPA bottle or a compressor is therefore not necessarily required.

In both cases, whether HPA or CO2, the regulator delivers a high flow rate for quick firing sequences. Please note that most electro-pneumatic systems on the market are not CO2 compatible compared to our Begadi HPA system. Therefore, before using CO2, check whether your HPA system is also designed for it if you do not use the Begadi HPA system.

The Taifun Regulator is characterized by a simple and slim design. The colors are gray and green, which means that the typhoon does not attract unnecessary attention.
There is a pressure gauge on the regulator itself, which shows the set pressure in bar. Compared to our HURRICANE, the TAIFUN is a little more compact; two adapters (HPA/CO2) are included.

Setting range:
The regulator is adjusted from above with a standard 8mm hex key. It can be adjusted continuously from 0-14 bar. The adjustment opening can be closed with a lid.
Please ensure that you do not exceed the permitted maximum pressure of your HPA system. With our Begadi HPA system the maximum pressure is 12 bar.

Tournament Lock:
When the lid is closed, our Taifun Regulator has an integrated tournament lock. For this purpose, holes were made below the lid through which, for example, a cable tie or sealing tape can be pulled. This means that the regulators can be easily sealed at events and opened at the end without leaving any residue.

Clutch:
There is a US Foster QD connection with a G 1/8 inch thread pre-mounted on the regulator.

Relief valve:
Opposite the hose connection there is a pressure relief valve that automatically releases air if the pressure becomes too high.

Bottle connections:
The Taifun comes with two adapters. Once for HPA cylinders and once for CO2 cylinders. To use the adapter, simply screw it in at the bottom and secure it with the locking ring to prevent it from being accidentally unscrewed. There are two grub screws on the locking ring, which finally secure the adapter and the locking ring.
The CO2 adapter has its own pressure gauge, which always shows the current pressure in the CO2 cylinder. This makes it easy to estimate how full the cylinder is.

CO2 cylinder with 425g (optional):
These CO2 cylinders are commonly used in various sparkling water devices and are very common in retail stores. This means that if necessary, you can simply purchase a filled CO2 bottle “in the store around the corner or online” instead of having to go to a specialist retailer who will fill the HPA bottle with special compressors.
The empty bottle can then be exchanged in the store.
You can use both CO2 and HPA with our regulators, which makes obtaining supplies much easier.

The CO2 cylinders officially all have the same thread type, but our tests have shown that there can be minimal differences with some (usually very cheap) manufacturers. We tested the adapter with CO2 cylinders from 10 different manufacturers. Here two manufacturers had slight differences in the thread. The remaining 8 bottles fit without any problems. We recommend choosing bottles from larger, well-known manufacturers, where the tolerances in the thread area are the lowest (i.e. the manufacturing quality is best).

If your HPA engine is not CO2 compatible, you can easily use the regulator with just HPA/compressed air.
Our Begadi HPA system is designed for use with HPA and CO2.

Cool down effect when using CO2 - negligible in normal gaming operation:
Briefly about the cooldown in theory: CO2, like other propellant gases used in airsoft, can assume two physical states: liquid and gaseous. At the current pressure, the gas in the gas container is predominantly liquid. This means you can fit more in it and the pressure release is more even. During the shot, a certain part of the gas is removed from the pressure vessel. This causes the pressure in the container to drop briefly and some of the liquid gas evaporates. During this evaporation process, energy is absorbed by the molecules in the form of heat, which causes cooling. That would be, roughly explained, the physics behind it. In practice, this means that the more shots are made in a SHORT (!) time, the more liquid gas is converted, creating cooling. However, in a “normal” game scenario, we rarely draw so much gas at once, which is why this effect can be ignored in a “normal” game scenario. In tests it took several magazines in continuous firing for the cool down to have an effect.

Note for use with CO2 operation (O-Rings / Seals):
Please only mount the regulator on the CO2 bottle while ingame and separate the two again after game.
Technical background: For physical reasons, the seal in question in the regulator expands with increasing connection time under CO2 pressure operation and contracts again after separation (similar to CO2 GBB magazines, which for this reason are always unpressurized should be stored). If both remain connected under pressure for a longer period of time (e.g. several days), the seal will be damaged and will no longer be able to completely return to its original shape and will leak. This problem does not arise if both are only connected for one game day and then disconnected again. If damage to the seal ever occurs, we also offer these individually in our maintenance kits. (Item 28322002 for Typhoon / Item 28422002 for Hurricane.)

Assembly:
When using with both HPA and CO2, make sure that all threads are screwed securely and that the locking ring sits well.
The regulator must be screwed onto the bottles with a little force as the pressure must be overcome.
If you don't screw the regulator onto the bottle far enough, it won't open enough. This leads to a low afterflow.

Maintenance:
As with all of our products, we attach great importance to longevity.
It is completely normal for a seal to wear out under very high pressures and numerous shots.
Accordingly, we offer you a maintenance kit for future maintenance. All required seals are included here.
