The Begadi FRAG GRENADE is an in-house development by Begadi.
When designing this airsoft grenade, our main focus was on a robust and durable construction. The pressure vessel, which is made of aluminum, is almost completely encased in a resistant plastic shell. This prevents the core from being damaged in the event of a hard impact. The plastic cover absorbs the damage and is designed so that it can be replaced very easily if the wear is too high.
We also offer the covers as spare parts in four colors and two sizes. Two covers are also included in the scope of delivery. A standard case with a capacity of 140 BB and a "high capacity" case that holds 180 BB.
What also characterizes our Begadi FRAG GRENADE is a very generously sized pressure tank, for more propellant gas than most other airsoft grenades, which is reflected in an impressive range and effortlessly distributes even the heaviest BBs.
The range of gas-powered airsoft grenades depends on several factors: Temperature, BB weight and related propellant gas. We are therefore unable to make any binding statements here.
Just to give you an approximate comparison: We were able to achieve ranges of approx. 20 meters in our tests (High CAPACITY shell with 180 BBs, 0.20g BBs, Pro Tech Gas, 20°C outside temperature, approx.16 meters / standard shell with 140 BBs, 0.20g BBs, Pro Tech Gas, 20°C outside temperature, approx.20 meters). We compared this with various other gas-operated airsoft grenades, which had an average range of 20-60% less under the same conditions.
The Begadi FRAG GRENADE consists of only 25 parts in total (including screws, O-rings, split pin, etc.). Thanks to the simple design, we have reduced the possible sources of error to a minimum and made sure that the design is as robust and maintenance-friendly as possible. You will also find a detailed technical video below, in which we go into detail about maintenance and handling.
The two different sized cases differ in terms of BB capacity. The standard size is almost 140 BB and has a slightly longer range due to the lower capacity. The "High Capacity" case can be filled with 180 BBs, which minimally reduces the range but improves the spread circle. You can therefore decide for yourself what is more important to you and fit the appropriate sleeve. Both sleeves are included in the scope of delivery
The ergonomic design sits comfortably in the hand and can be thrown very precisely thanks to a dead weight of 320g (unloaded). Of course, care must always be taken not to endanger anyone when throwing (see safety instructions). On impact, the Begadi FRAG GANETE is set in rotation by the escaping propellant gas, which ensures the necessary BB distribution. As a nice side effect, the Begadi FRAG GRENADE has a very unique but also characteristic sound.
The bright signal colors of the plastic sleeves help to find the Begadi FRAG GRANATE even in tall grass and undergrowth. Of course, we also have the sleeves in a classic black color.
The Begadi FRAG GRANATE is unlocked via a steel safety split, which is fitted with a practical key ring.
Note on the Tensioner:
Tensioners in two different hardnesses are included in the scope of delivery. A softer one, which is suitable for weak to medium-strong propellants and cold temperatures, and a harder Tensioner, which is suitable for strong propellants and warm temperatures. The soft Tensioner can also be used with strong propellants and warm temperatures, but it is more abrasive and needs to be replaced more quickly than the hard Tensioner.
General information on sealing and maintenance:
As with gas grenades from other manufacturers, the Begadi Frag Grenades may leak after intensive use. The reasons for this are usually sealing rings that have cooled down after many throws or seals that are too dry. A slight hissing can often be remedied by emptying and refilling. If this is not enough, we recommend maintenance with cleaning and lubrication of the sealing rings as explained in our video (Chapter 4, Disassembly and cleaning ). We always recommend cleaning and lubrication after intensive use.
