In bad weather, you stay at home or get wet - sounds sensible in theory, but in real life this is rarely possible / not an option - or often you simply don't want to stay inside. It is then important to have sensible wet weather protection with you! We have dedicated ourselves to this problem over the last 10 years and developed our very own priorities for moisture protection.

Our first focus was that we didn't just want to make a simple overcoat or outdoor trousers. The user should be able to decide for themselves which use they prefer.
For the material, we opted for the same 2-layer laminate as for our bivy sack, as it is both highly water-repellent and extremely breathable (see info below on breathability).
We also chose our partner for bivy bags, who has been supplying the Norwegian military and the Australian armed forces for more than 10 years, the best prerequisites for an all-weather product.

The trousers are designed as regular but loose-fitting outdoor trousers and can be worn both as standalone trousers and as overtrousers. The two slit pockets, two back pockets with flaps and the large cargo pockets give the trousers the same storage space as normal field trousers.
The lightly padded knee areas prevent chilling when kneeling down. Generous side zippers make them easy to put on, even with boots. As the fit is one of the main factors, the user has two options for securing the trousers:
If the trousers are worn in boots (e.g. cold protection boots "Mukluks", the trousers can be secured against riding up with a flat, adjustable elastic band at the foot. For those who prefer a more robust look, there are also two sturdy belt loops at the foot end that allow the trousers to be secured over the boot, e.g. with a parachute cord. The inside of the foot is additionally reinforced with robust fabric to prevent wear and tear. All seams are welded with PTFE tape!

Info on the laminate:
We have opted for a very high-quality laminate, the factory specifications state a water column of 10,000mm and a water vapor permeability of 10,000MVP. The latter was the most important factor for us, even the cheapest laminates today achieve a water column of 8000-10000, but stagnate at an MVP value of 5000. Example from practice: When we tested the clothing, we came into a heated accommodation after 8 hours at -17° and gale-force winds - and had no sweat at all.

What is important to understand: A laminate is always water-repellent, never waterproof. Mechanical stress (such as friction), dirt and even soap residue can affect the water column. At our last bivouac, we had a thunderstorm that drove the rain into the camp from all directions and pressed the tarps almost flat against the bivouac sacks made from the material; after 3 hours, weak points had developed where the wet tarps rubbed against the laminate - the rest was completely dry.

Tips for care and use:
- Choose the right size for you! We are also happy to help!
- Clean the garment with lukewarm water and mild soap (30° gentle) and without soaking
- Rinse off all soap residue under all circumstances - ideally do without soap!
- Renew the DWR coating from time to time, depending on use, with a commercially available waterproofing spray
